Building our new glass furniture showroom: Update

Building work on our new glass furniture showroom in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham is finally approaching the finish line.

Display items are starting to arrive, including curved glass furniture from the market leaders FIAM & SOVET from Italy along with a fantastic sofa from Naughtone.

The electrics are all in place, including light switches, alarms and exit signs. A glass door has been fitted at the rear entrance, whilst the showers that will display our ICON-GLASS are currently being assembled.

Glassdomain makes an appearance at Interiors 2011

Glassdomain recently made an appearance at the Interiors 2011 show, displaying the Star Glass Coffee Table.

Interiors 2011 is the largest interiors trade event in the UK, which gathered together the industry’s top professionals for four day of essential business and networking. It was held at the National Exhibition Centre Birmingham (NEC) from January 23rd to 26th.

Birmingham Institute of Art & Design student Zoe Walker teamed up with Glassdomain for her Fable trend peice, in which she digitally printed her embroided textile onto vinyl to display on our Star Glass Coffee Table.

Zoe was awarded a year’s subscription to Global Color Mix magazine who were full of praise for her work. Carolina Calzada, Marketing Director, Global Color Mix – Research presented the Fable award.

The Italian Designer Collection – Now Avaliable!

The Italian Designer collection is now avaliable on our website.

Customers are now able to purchase FIAM and SOVET glass furniture items from Glassdomain. There is now a section on our website in which people can look at these beautiful curved glass furniture peices and mirrors.

These items will also be avaliable to loook at in person, at our new showroom, opening during March in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham.

We are especially excited to have FIAMs Caadre Mirror, an item designed by the world famous Philippe Starck.

Building our new showroom update.

It’s been a while since we’ve given you all an update on the building work taking place for our new Birmingham showroom, so here we go.

  • Electrics including wall sockets have now been installed.
  • Skirting has been fitted around the showroom.
  • The walls have been painted white.
  • Internal window frames have been fitted in our new office.
  • We’ve selected which furniture to display in the showroom, including FIAM and SOVET items to form our Italian Designer Collection.

Next week will see the floor fitted, manifestation on the windows and hopefully, the remaining finishing touches needed. We are aiming to open around March 7th so keep checking this blog for the latest news as we approach the finish line and the grand opening of our flagship glass furniture showroom!

Fiam have worked relentlessly to produce furniture that is both eye catching and design led. Their range of amazing products have been conceived from the worlds greatest designers; Philippe Starck, Danny Lane, Ron Arad and Luca Casini to name but a few.

We will have Fiam’s greatest creation The Ghost Chair and Philippe Starck’s Caadre mirror on display in our brand new  Birmingham showroom from March 2nd.
